Operational Performance
The following information is displayed on the Operational Performance page for each company:
- Net Revenue: Gross Revenue minus taxes and, in some cases, sales returns and trade discounts. (*1)
- Net Profit: What is “left” over from Net Revenue after all operating costs and expenses have been subtracted, including income tax and net interest payments, and therefore represents the amount available for distribution to shareholders and/or reinvestment in the company’s operations.
- Gross Margin: Gross Profit divided by Net Revenue. Gross Profit is the Net Revenue minus the Cost of Goods and/or Services Sold. (*2)
- Net Margin: is the Net Profit divided by the Net Revenue.
Notes:
- Some companies, despite having a net profit (or loss), actually have no revenue.
(*1) The standard financial statements of financial institutions have a different format from the others, not directly presenting the net revenue. For the sake of standardization, for all financial institutions we adopt as standard Net Revenue = Financial Intermediation Revenue + Service Provision Revenue.
(*2) For financial institutions we adopt as standard Gross Result = Financial Intermediation Revenue + Service Provision Revenue – Financial Intermediation Expenses.
